Conversation killers they are everywhere you will never know when one will find its way into your conversation. Most time these dastardly things show up in text messages and social media. “Cool” and “k” or “kk” or any other variations are conversation killers peer and simple.
If I tell someone something and it demands an adequate response and they say is “k” or “that’s cool.” And the thing in said conversation is not cool in nature; it makes me feel as if you are not generally interested in what I have to say.
What on earth is the point of having a conversation in the first place if you are not going to add to it?
At this point, I could have a more stimulating conversation with myself. In my mind the point of having a conversation is to get feedback, and to have that person add to the conversation not to rip it apart, stomp on it, and throw it into the nearest waste receptacle.
And another thing why do some
people use “K” in the first place? Okay is just three letters longer. Are some people just that lazy? Is ok not short enough?
I am beginning to see a trend of people dropping out letters Especially in social media. For example people start writing “tht” instead of “that” or, “u” instead of “you.” Is it that too much work? To tap a few more letters on the keyboard. Write it out! For all of us! Please! It will not take much longer I promise you that.
I am also seeing advent of new words like “skewl”. Since when does school have a “w” or and an “e” in it. Maybe there should be and advertisements on Facebook offering free dictionary giveaways or something. I mean I may not be a grade A speller myself. But I do not just make up my own spellings when I cannot think of how to spell something. I do what a normal person does and I look it up.
Next time you are talking to someone and the conversation goes south; Do Not use “k” just stop, wait, and think of a response. I believe it will lead to a much more fulfilling conversation for all those involved. “K” is a letter, not a word and it should not be treated as such.
