Hitler’s Alliance with Japan
Being an opportunist it was natural for Hitler to make an alliance with Japan even though Asians are considered to be inferior they do serve a purpose to protect the Pacific from the Americans. This ultimately serves as a distraction for the United States so that they don’t get involved in the war in Europe until Hitler is already unstoppable. The alliance began in November of 1936, was it truly beneficial for Hitler to have this alliance with Japan? It kept the United States distracted for a brief period of time, however the Japanese also ultimately were the reason that the United States got involved in that war. Had the Japanese not attacked Pearl Harbor the United States might not have gotten involved in the war as soon as they did. Hitler could’ve taken over much more territory in Europe and potentially made himself unstoppable before the Americans got involved. The citizens of the United States didn’t have much desire to get involved in the war until after Pearl Harbor. Japan didn’t provide much assistance to Hitler during the war, for example when the Germans invaded Soviet Union Hitler asked the Japanese to attack the Soviet Union from the other side, forcing the Soviet Union to be fighting a two front war which could’ve really helped Hitler in taking over the Soviet Union and defeating the communists. However Japan never got involved the only thing Japan did that could be seen as helpful to Germany was take over the colonies that the French Empire had control of in Asia and the Pacific so the Germans didn’t have to try and occupy all that territory. So was the alliance with Japan really helpful to Hitler?
